Blue eyes. Light hair. 5ft 5 1/2 in high by profession a machinist. Born in the city of Brooklyn Kings Co. N.Y. Enlisted at Brooklyn Kings County NY. April 18th /61 to serve for the period of the war. Is here by permitted to go to Brooklyn Kings County N.Y. by having received a furlough from the 21st day of August untill the 25th day of August 1861 at which time he will rejoin his company or Regt at Camp Wood or wherever it may then be or be considered a Deserter. Given under my hand this 21st day of August 1861 Arlington Va. Lieut Col EB Fowler Commander 14th Regt N.Y.S.M. G Washington Mears Secty
